Hydration
The macrobiotic way of eating is very hydrating.
Soups, whole grain dishes, and vegetables are water and mineral-rich.
Most macrobiotic dishes are prepared with water in some way. In contrast, modern (convenience) foods are extremely dehydrating and are often dry, hard, baked, over-salty and made with additives.
Hydration is important in part because water is involved in all aspects of body metabolism. Drinking (bottled) water will not re-hydrate in the same way that eating water-rich foods does.
